![]() ![]() The TDP for the i9-12900K is 125 W with turbo requiring 241 W, and there would have been a bespoke cooling system in place for this particular Alder Lake overclocking experiment. Of course, overclocked synthetic benchmark results are mostly just curios, to see what processor can call itself the fastest in the purest of terms. The “slowest” P-core recorded an overclocked frequency of 5,500 MHz while four of the others produced 6,300 MHz. This particular die version of the i9-12900K has 16 cores and 24 threads, with the CPU cores being made up of eight performance cores (P-cores) and eight efficiency cores (E-cores). The score in this particular test run is practically off CPU-Z Validator’s charts such is the extent of the lead over the Ryzen 9 5900X (648 points) and i9-11900K (682 points). However, this latest result for the i9-12900K is quite astonishing, with the final score resting at 981 points. Both of these are remarkable results that place the Zen 3 Ryzen 9 parts from AMD and the Rocket Lake i9-11900K way behind in the runner-up spots. Recently there were sightings of the Intel Core i9-12900K on CPU-Z Validator revealing the Alder Lake part collecting impressive single-thread benchmark scores of 813 points and 834 points. ![]()
